Same Sex Marriage
A lot of people have asked me; “Big Dirty how do you feel about Same Sex Marriage?” It seems to be a hot topic lately in terms of social problems and societal questions in this country. Since I have never had a successful marriage, I am uncertain why anyone would actually want to get married (opposite or same sex) at all?! But after much consideration of the question here is my answer;
I was raised by two people of faith and they live what many would consider a morally up right life. I attended a private religious school from first to fifth grade. I received all the religious training that my religious faith required. But I can not think of a single time where anyone discussed homosexuality with me or said it was immoral. The topic just never came up. I no longer practice the religion of my youth or any other type for that matter. But, I have held on to some of the moral/ethical teachings about how people should conduct themselves. The one teaching that was discussed with me quite frequently was the sin of sex out of wedlock. People took extra time to try to impress that on me even when I was just Little Dirty. So it is with that teaching in mind that I must say that Same Sex Marriage should be made legal. All the gay couples are having sex out of wedlock and sex out of wedlock is WRONG!!! So they should marry so they stop living in fucking sin all the time. Anyway that’s how I feel about it.
You have a point Big-D, but at the same time, during all those tender years of religous instruction, kids were never told it’s okay to bone your best friend in the ass. Homosexuality was never talked about and if it was mentioned, it was in a negative way. I also never remember hanging out with my friends and saying “wow, that dude sure has a nice ass”. I have always had a live and let live attitude, but I am sick and tired of having the homo agenda pushed down my throat (no pun intended) by the media, Hollywood, and homo groups. No matter what they want you to think, it is okay to think that homosexuality is wrong and it is okay to teach your children the same thing.
So I guess it’s also okay to teach your kids that black people are only good for picking cotton, that Hispanics are only good for washing dishes, and that women are only good for sucking your dick on your birthday and making you dinner. Right Sheik?
Homosexuality is not a choice, so it shouldn’t be considered a punishable offense. If having a huge dick in your ass doesn’t get you off, that’s fine; you’re allowed to stick to pussy. But it’s incredibly ignorant — and immoral (!) — to demand that a huge group of people stop doing something that they’re naturally inclined to do, something that makes them happy, just because it makes you uncomfortable.

Well rachel, the book is still out on whether people are born gay. Gay is a choice being black, hispanic, or female is not, so the analogy is not accurate. I never said that they should stop. At the same time, I never said they should be allowed to marry either.

The Sheik does represent a large segment of the society that resents (not hates)having to even address the issue of Same Sex Marriage.
He (I assume he is a he) has the right to teach his children what he wants just like your parent had the right to teach you that blowjobs are just for birthdays.

Wow, I never realized I was closeminded, what was I ever thinking. You guys are right, people should be able to do whatever they want. In fact, I should be able to marry whoever or whatever I want. I think I will marry my cat, dog, horse, hell, even my sister. Why not, I should be able to do what I want. Come on guys why not? It feels good, and if it feels good, do it. In fact, my dog could then get health benefits.
I think the mention of health benefits strikes to the real reason states are not passing laws to legalize same sex marriage. If 10% of a particular company, or state’s employees are homosexual and the law passes and recognizes same sex marriages then companies and governments are now forced to provide more benefits to spouses of gay married couples. I just don’t think companies/ governments are going to want to do that… They can claim it is a moral/religious issue but I think it is short sighted to not see it as an issue of economics as well.
If Adam and Steve are in a relationship (deep, loving, commited) and Adam has health benefits through his job as an engineer for the State Government and Steve has no health benefits because he sells Tastefully Simple Products and arranges flower part time for a local florist and if Adam and Steve could now, after years of fucking in sin, suddenly become a legalize married couple then Adam’s employer now has to add Steve to Adam’s health care and benefits package. That’s why governments are pushing to legalize it! The mask it as a moralistic issue and to many it is a moral issue. But I would argue the government is devoid of morals but doesn’t want to hurt business or pay anymore than the have to.
That you would equate same sex marriage with the crazies who want to marry outside of their species blows my mind! And what you’re saying is that homosexuals who wish to marry are not only immoral but also total whack-jobs…?? Why yes, I’d have to say you are closed-minded.
No one is asking you to do anything you don’t want to do. But if you do marry your horse, on the wedding night, you might want to choose tops! Just a suggestion

Let’s face it, homosexuality is not a natural occurance in life. I am not a religious person, far from it, but the whole concept of marriage was born from religion. The natural state of beings is for the opposite sexes to unite to create more of the species. Religions were on to something when they created marriage as between a male and a female. Gay marriage is a very recent phenomenon in the history of the world, and a sign of an overly hedonistic society. Let us not forget what happened to overly hedonistic societies in the past. Being gay is lifestyle choice and since when do lifestyle choices get protected under the umbrella of equal rights.

I’ll give you that in an evolutionary sense, homosexuality is not a viable option. That’s obvious. But don’t stop there, if you want to be a real science guy you have to include all sexual “choices” that are non-proliferating. So, here’s my short list: sex for pleasure alone is not viable in this sense, and neither is celibacy, oral sex, or masturbation.
I don’t know about you but I’m not willing to give up anything from that list (well, except for celibacy which in my case always leads to masturbation anyway, so…) just because I won’t get pregnant and propagate my species.
In any “natural” set there will always be those who fall outside of the average range. Homosexuality may not be average and it’s not a feasible way to propagate our species, but it is not an unnatural occurrence. What is unnatural is to try to force and squeeze-in all of those who don’t fit nicely in the big middle part of the bell curve just because it makes the “average” people feel more comfortable.
Here’s a thought: perhaps homosexuality is on the upswing because our planet is so sadly overpopulated. They’re not breeders, so they are, in effect, saving our breeding asses from ultimate and certain demise. That, dear friend, deserves not only equal rights under the law, but a day, if not a month, or recognition! I hereby designate today as THANK A HOMO DAY!

You make a valid point Feisty, and I will search out Homos and thank them for not breeding. A couple of problems in the theory still remain: 1- If homosexuality is in fact genetic, by not breeding the occurance of homosexuality should be dropping. This is not the case. 2- Homosexuality does not just fall outside the bell curve of societal acceptance, it is in the outlier region that consists 4 standard deviations away from the mean.
As for population control, until the Government of China declares that homosexuality is the official sexual orientation of China and imposes it upon their people, I don’t want to hear about it.

Sadly you don’t measure up
1- Human genetics are much too complicated to say we can “breed it out”. If you question this statement, go to the Human Genome Project site: http://www.ornl.gov/sci/techresources/Human_Genome/home.shtml Aside from the complexity of genetics, you should remember that until recently gay men frequently married and lived a “normal” life in fear of otherwise being discriminated against, beaten (to death in even recent cases), and treated as sub-human. These men did have children and, so, would have passed on their genetic makeup to the next generation. Besides you’re talking way too recent history for any genetic change to have been affected.
2- 10% is commonly accepted as the percentage of homosexuals in the population. And, statistically 3 standard deviations away from the mean is equivalent to 99% of the set. So, even if you purposely shortchanged a commonly held belief, the HUGE discrepancy between what is commonly believed and what you stated made my bullshit meter go NUTS! (don’t get nervous, the nuts are nowhere near your chin) Also, you saying that homosexuality is either somewhat or far removed from the average state of things is not a point I’m arguing, anyway!
3- It’s so good to know that you find it more palatable for girl babies to be killed as a common occurrence in China (because families want their only allowable baby to be a boy) rather than the Chinese declaring homosexuality as “best practice” to curb overpopulation. Now my immorality meter just went NUTS!

For the record… Big Dirty is not in favor of the killing of Chinese babies that are female. It is wrong. Chinese girl babies grow up to be women and Chinese women are HOT! Maybe not Fillipino or Thai hot but they are still hot.
